Description :
The Smith American Organ Company was well-known for producing high-quality pump organs in the late 19th century, particularly those with ornate wood carvings and decorative panels. This organ was originally in Texas as noted in the newspaper clipping from "The Denison Herald" and had been brought to the town of Denison by Mrs. A. E. Hawkins shortly after Denison, Texas was founded in 1872 (according to the newspaper article). This vintage wooden organ is a beautifully crafted piece with intricate carvings and ornate designs, giving it a distinctive antique charm. The keyboard features classic white and black keys, with several knobs above it. The knobs say "flute", "diapason forte", "principal forte" and more. The organ is stamped with "Smith American Organ Company." Sitting in front of the organ is a floral embroidered cushion stool, adding to its antique aesthetic. The organ functions but it is not consistent in its air flow.
