Description :
A classic Wurlitzer Spinet style (compact size) upright piano in a rich dark wood finish, paired with a matching storage bench. Etched stamped number 508195, likely the serial number which correlates to mid-1950's piano production. Possibly dark stained Cherry wood or Oak with brass foot pedals. This piece features traditional design elements including turned legs, a built-in music stand, and a warm, polished tone that suits both practice and performance. Measuring 56" wide, 38" high, and 26" deep, it’s ideal for a living room, music room, or studio setting. The bench opens for convenient sheet music or accessory storage. A well-maintained instrument with timeless appeal—perfect for musicians and collectors alike. Wurlitzer Pianos is one of the oldest names in the piano manufacturing industry in the United States. The quality of their pianos can be lined up with the best names in the realm of piano manufacturing and design. Wurlitzer was established in 1853 by Franz Rudolph Wurlitzer. He built a piano manufacturing plant in Ohio in 1861, and four years later, he opened a retail shop, expanding his distribution across the Unites States. In 1880 Wurlitzer began to make pianos, and the company grew and became particularly well known for military and mechanical instruments. Despite Franz Rudolph Wurlitzer’s death in 1914, the company carried on and survived the age of the gramophone by introducing the first automatic jukebox, the Wurlitzer Simplex. In 1935, Wurlitzer introduced the tradition-breaking spinet piano, proving that a piano only thirty-nine inches high could replace the bulky instruments traditionally produced. Due to its size and weight, bidding on this lot confirms agreement to bring at least two or more able-bodied individuals, an appropriate sized moving vehicle (NOTE MEASUREMENTS) and appropriate equipment (e.g., dollie, hand truck) for safe removal. Failure to comply may result in forfeiture without refund. No staff on site to assist with moving this item.
