Description :

"Gone With the Wind" style lamp made by the White Flame Light Co. of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

These lamps were popular in the late 1880s and 1890s. The lamp features a clear glass base with an embossed pattern, a metal burner, and a clear glass chimney. The base is bulbous and sits on a round, flat foot. The burner is silver-colored and has a wick adjuster knob on the side. The chimney is tall and slightly tapered.  (note that the pink hue in the picture is coming from the reflection of the pink-toned wick inside.  The entire lamp is clear glass - with brass fitting).

The White Flame Light Co. was founded by David J. Tower, who obtained a patent for an improved burner in 1868. The company operated from the late 19th century into the early 20th century. Lamps from this company typically have "White Flame Lamp Co., Grand Rapids, Michigan" imprinted on the metal base. These lamps are collectible, with estimated values ranging from $200 to $300.

Base of the lamp is 12.5 inches tall x 6 inches diameter.
