Description :
Nicely preserved (for its age) - Gibson TB‑1 Tenor Banjo, featuring the original Jos. Rogers calfskin head, pre‑1925 Gibson Mandolin‑Guitar Co. guarantee label, and “The Gibson” pearl headstock inlay. The resonator showcases Gibson’s distinctive trapdoor back design, an early 1920s innovation allowing adjustable tone projection and resonance. Finished in a warm sunburst lacquer with decorative edge binding and complete metal tension hardware.
Includes vintage green‑lined hard case and Beginner’s 5‑String Banjo Book by Ronny Lee. Displays a small crack at the neck heel (see photo) but remains structurally sound and highly collectible for its craftsmanship and historical significance. The case shows a significant amount of age wear but still works well to preserve the banjo itself. As it sits, with minor structural crack (as shown) and typical age wear to the finish & surface imperfections, fair market value is $500-$1000.
