Description :
An authentic piece of World War II maritime history. This genuine U.S. Navy 24-hour ship’s deck clock was manufactured by the prestigious Chelsea Clock Co. of Boston, Mass. Featuring a 24-hour military time black dial with crisp numerals, a secondary inner track, and a sweep second hand with a crescent-moon counterweight. One of the gold-tone hands is currently detached (included loose, as pictured). It is housed in its original, rugged black Bakelite casing featuring a heavy-duty, side-hinged bezel that opens smoothly to reveal the intact interior rim. The back of the Bakelite case features a hand-scribed number and a serial number on the dial: 84915E Notably, the original glass face is in goid condition with no chips or cracks. The case shows expected vintage wear and weathering from naval service. An outstanding project for clocksmiths or a premier addition to any militaria collection.
